Lip Blush PRE & POST Care

I Cannot Predict Your Fading Experience

It is fully possible to get the perfect results with only one application; however, this cannot be guaranteed. Please remember that the amount of pigment you retain or lose after your initial application is not a reflection of the quality of work. Pigment retention varies with each person. In case your procedure must be repeated, you will need to wait at least 21 days of the date of your original application.

The tissue is not ready to absorb new pigment although your skin looks healed. Please be patient.

*I Charge an Additional Fee for Touch Ups

Pre-Care Instructions:

Do not work out 24 hours before procedure

NO alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).

Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.

Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.

Avoid power shakes and power greens, Fish Oil, and "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements 24 hours prior to procedure.

Discontinue Glycolics, Chemical Peels and Retin-A 4 weeks prior.

Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after your procedure. Check your moisturizer, face wash BB or CC creams and makeup primers for anything that says acid one week before.

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle as well.

You have to be off any kind of Accutane for 1 year. NO Exceptions!

Fillers should be done six weeks prior to scheduled procedure or six weeks after procedure.

Botox should be performed two weeks prior to scheduled procedure or two weeks after.

Cold Sores and Fever Blisters:

In the case of permanent lip color, cold sores and fever blisters MUST be treated. If you get cold sores or have ever had one in the past, you will need an antiviral prescription from your doctor before a lip procedure. Physicians usually instruct to take it 2 days before. As this procedure will bring out the virus if not medicated beforehand.

Oily Skin:

If you have oily skin, results will appear softer and may require additional procedures.

Preparing the Skin

To prepare the skin, you will need to cleanse the area free of makeup. Clean with baby-wipes, makeup remover or apply antibacterial soap with a Q-Tip to remove any excess skin oils.

DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS 48 hours prior to your appointment

Post Procedure:

There will be an epithelial crust that forms in the days following the procedure. This crust is a combination of dried pigment and plasma that forms externally. It is important that you do not pick it. Picking the crust will result in a loss of pigment. The crust will fall off naturally within a few days. For the first few days following the procedure, the area will feel similar to that of a sunburn. A topical ointment can help soothe the area. Apply antibiotic ointment twice daily. This will soothe the area, keeping it moist and helping it heal properly.

Follow This Daily Regime

Do not touch the treated area unless applying ointment. No scratching, rubbing, or picking of the treated area

Be cautious around the area (such as pulling clothing over your head)

Do not apply makeup on treated area until healed

Apply ointment 1 - 3 times a day on treated area until peeling comes off; normally 5 to 7 days. (Again do not peel the area yourself, let this fall off naturally)

Touch up may be done after 21 days, however its best to wait 30-45 days

No anti-acne or anti-aging products on the skin for 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

No accutane within one year of procedure.

Post Care for Saline Tattoo Removal

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.

First 48 Hours

Any redness surrounding the treated area subsides within an hour or two. Redness within the treated area becomes brown as the skin dries out. The treated area must be allowed to dry out over the next 48 hours fully. For most people, the area is touch dry within the first few hours.

Only touch with very clean hands, ideally no touching for 48 hours

If the skin is not allowed to dry out quickly you will not get the best results

Saline wound care wipes can be used to gently remove excess oil

Do not get the area wet or sweaty for 48 hours.

After 48 Hours

The treated area is now very dry, and a light scab will have formed. You may see pigment visible in the scab. Use ONE SINGLE APPLICATION of Cavilon barrier cream on and slightly around the scab. This single application will last for 3 to 4 days, leaving a soft film over the scab. You can get the area a little wet when washing and showering, avoid rubbing the area.

Excessive movements are likely to crack the scab, which is not ideal for easy healing. Do not attempt to remove the scab before it naturally heals from the treated area

After any wetness, gently hold a clean tissue on the scab to dry it out

No excessive wetting the area, no swimming etc while the scab is on

The scab will remain firmly attached for 5 to 14 days

For eyebrows, the scab is held in eyebrow hair until gently removed. AT NO TIME CAN YOU PICK OFF ATTACHED SCABS, YOU WILL CAUSE UNWANTED RESULTS.

SCAR + STRETCH MARKS CAMOUFLAGE PRE CARE

PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT:

  • Exfoliate 3 days to a week before to get rid of any dead skin cells on your body Shave/wax areas, no laser treatments at least 4-6 weeks before working on the treated area
  • No tanning 4-6 weeks prior. Please make sure your skin is not tanned so that we can Match your correct skin tone, this also includes no self tanners. Doesn't apply to Inkless stretch mark revision
  • no alcohol, no caffeine, no aspirin, no ibuprofen a couple of days before & NO blood thinners 3 days before your appointment
  • Wear loose clothes the day of the appointment; the areas treated will be slightly tender.
  • Please eat a healthy, well-balanced meal before we meet and drink lots of water.
  • No lotion, oils, or sweat on the skin.
  • No Antibiotics= Being on antibiotics 20 days before treatment and 40 days after the treatment can slow down the healing process
  • No Intense Working out= Weight lifting and strenuous exercise should be avoided at least 2-3 days before your session. Putting strain on your muscles can cause swelling and soreness, which may heighten the sensation of the tattoo and increase healing time. It can also cause your skin to stretch slightly, resulting in your tattoo being distorted when your skin returns to normal. ***Just a reminder: Pain receptors are heightened if you're menstruating, so please plan accordingly for procedure dates to avoid added discomfort.

SCAR + STRETCH MARKS CAMOUFLAGE POST CARE

  • Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before touching your procedure area(s) to avoid infection.
  • Do not shower for 24 hours if possible. if showering in the first 24 hrs keep the area treated as dry as possible
  • First 3 days, cold compress the areas at least 3x daily for 10 minutes or as needed to reduce swelling. NO ICE just use a cold compress or ice-cold water.
  • If the treatment area is left uncovered, apply a thin layer of Aquafor (or something similar) 2-3 times daily with a gloved or cleaned hand or clean Q-tip for the first 3 days. We will supply you with aftercare to use in the first few days.
  • If uncovered, gentle soap can be used if needed. Pat dry only.

Things To Avoid After Camouflage

  • Do not submerge the treatment area in water for at least 7 days. This includes baths, pools, hot tubs, etc
  • Avoid heavy exercise for 3 days as excessive sweating can pull the pigment out. Keep a towel handy to pat dry the area while healing in the first 2 weeks when working out. Try to gently wipe off sweat as soon as possible.
  • Avoid harsh soaps, ointments, and lotions (other than those noted above) on the affected area for the first 7 days. Also, DO NOT use Neosporin or Bacitracin, antibiotic creams. They will pull the pigment out.
  • DO NOT pick at the newly forming scabs as your procedure heals! DO NOT scrub, rub, or any form of picking at the epithelial crust that forms. Instead, allow it to flake off by itself. Doing so will pull the pigment out! This is extremely important.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun. It is imperative that you do not expose your re-pigmented skin to direct sunlight, tanning booths, or any products which increase melanin (what gives your skin its color). After 10 days, wear sunscreen daily to maintain the integrity of the pigments.
  • Avoid makeup of any kind on your medical tattoo for 7 days following your procedure.
  • After 14 days, if you laser, you need to be sure the laser professional know your ink has Titanium Dioxide in it, as the laser treatment can affect the pigment.

What To Expect After Camouflage

  • Stretchmark/scars will be dark during the healing process. Please don't panic. This can last up to 60-90 days until your skin is fully healed to its new fabulous skin tone! The process of Hyperchromia can be a natural part of the healing process. Though it can happen at any time during the healing stage it tends to be around the 2-3 week mark.
  • Slight swelling, itching, scabbing, light bruising, and dry tightness one week after the procedure.
  • Very dark and slightly uneven appearance.
  • Color change or color loss. As the scars & stretch mark area heals, the ink may turn red, then pink, then brown, or purple. Again...This is normal
  • The procedure area has to be completely healed before addressing any concerns. This takes at least two months (or 45-60 days) but could possibly take longer depending on your skin. Although we can get you in for your touch-up sessions sooner than that just remember final healing time takes at least 45-60 days after the last session.
  • Failure to follow aftercare instructions may result in infections, pigment loss, or discoloration.
